Only the mage can cast spells, which provide damage output and a few helpful support abilities for the party.
To cast a spell, right-click on the mage's hand or wand, and enter the rune formula for that spell. The rune formulas can be learned in game via spell scrolls, remembered from a previous game, or simply learned in the table below. There is no need to "learn" the spell; however, the mage does need sufficient points in the relevant mage skill to cast each spell.
Each elemental tree has four spells:
A level 1 basic damage spell.
A level 7-9 spell that enchants arrows to provide extra elemental damage. Arrow enchanting consume energy per cast not per arrow.
A level 11-14 greater damage spell. In addition to doing much greater damage, this spell is ranged. The greater damage spell can be additionally enhanced by passive bonuses gained via further skill point investment.
A level 13-22 shield spell. This spell provides a temporary +35 resistance to all members of the party.
